Shane S
President / Freight Broker
Shane, commenced his journey and deep-rooted appreciation for logistics during his dedicated service to the country as a U.S. Army and USAFR veteran. The foundations of his logistics career were laid during his pivotal role in multiple major logistical moves while serving in the armed forces. These experiences served as the initial stepping stones that eventually guided his career trajectory.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 2000, Shane’s determination to immerse himself in the logistics industry propelled him to pursue a career as a truck driver. This hands-on experience further nurtured his passion and understanding of the logistics world. Shane’s exceptional dedication and aptitude led him to a crucial role as an Army contractor with the Treater Transportation Mission in Iraq. Starting as a convoy driver, he quickly rose through the ranks to become a transportation foreman. In this significant role, he was entrusted with overseeing the daily activities of up to 120 drivers and managing complex convoy logistics planning.
Upon his return to the United States, Shane continued to refine his logistics skills by overseeing fleet operations for an oil and gas service company in both North Dakota and Texas. However, the challenging oil market drop in 2015 prompted him to seek new opportunities and explore different facets of the industry.
This exploration led him to the world of freight brokering. In 2016, Shane undertook comprehensive training to equip himself with the necessary skills and knowledge for this evolving field. He established his own dispatch service and later founded City 2 City Freight, initially operating as an independent agent. Through hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, he successfully transitioned City 2 City Freight into an independently licensed brokerage in 2020.
